GBM/Pioneer Senior Camp 1999

Are you Serious?

  • about being a Christian
  • about having fun
  • about good Bible teaching
  • about Christian fellowship
  • about having a good holiday
  • about making friends
  • about eating good food
  • about avoiding expensive holidays
  • about being 17 or over
  • about enjoying hot showers

...then this holiday is for you!

This year, the joint GBM/Pioneer Senior Camp will be a one week camp. It will be running from Saturday 28th August to Saturday 4th September at Root Hill Farm, in Surrey. We hope to have several GBM missionaries join us for this action-packed extended week of talks, games, bonfire, barbecue, concert, tournaments, trips out, hot showers, discussions, bouncy castle, volleyball, football, cricket, rounders, lots of food, walks....etc. You'll have to come to find out about the rest!

Grace Baptist Mission helps churches support and care for their missionaries. They have organised various holidays over the years to help promote missionary awareness and involvement.

Pioneer Camp has been providing young people with a holiday under canvas in a Christian environment for many years and once again are joining forces with GBM to organise this senior camp for those aged 17 and over. For details of camps suitable for younger people, click here.

WHY THIS HOLIDAY?

  • to encourage and challenge young people in their Christian lives

  • to think seriously about mission

  • to provide stimulating friendship and fellowship whilst having a good holiday

But Camping....?!

Don't worry! We have every modern convenience! Hot showers, hair drier sockets, microwave, tumble drier, hot running water, fully carpeted dining room, armchairs in the lounge, a bookstall, a fully stocked tuck shop at amazing prices, snooker, table tennis, etc, etc.

In fact, the only thing that resembles camping is that you sleep in a tent. And you don't even need to do that if you can get hold of a caravan. Food is of the highest quality - ask anybody who's been before. Washing up etc will be done on a rota basis.

The Guest Speaker for this year will be Andrew Smith, the Pastor of Whittlesey Baptist Church. He will be doing a series of talks in the morning. The Leaders of the Camp will be David and Laura Higham (GBM) and David and Esther Hollands (Pioneer Camp), who will be organising games, tournaments, and trips out by car convoy for activities such as bowling. In the evenings, other world famous (?!) speakers will be visiting ) to deal with a variety of relevant topics with opportunities for discussion over supper. Your money back if you don't have a good time, so Please Book Early!

COST

This year, the cost of the camp per person is still only £50 or, if you book after 1st July 1999, £55 or, if you come as a helper, only £30! The price includes one free Mars Bar and unlimited hot showers!
